Access, equity and quality of education is still a problem for rural population
In recent years, Ethiopia has made tremendous efforts to restructure the educational system, and to expand primary education throughout the country. Reports indicate that access, quality and equity of primary education have shown signs of improvement which in effect increased school enrollment rates. However, despite huge strides in the improvement of educational service delivery, access to primary education still entails major obstacles that prevent smooth functioning of the learning and teaching environment. Majority of the primary schools suffer from lack of resources and internal school facilities such as furniture, textbooks and other materials; all placing a heavy challenge on the everyday operation of the schools.
